Christmas Hygge: The Youth House Edition
Ho-ho-ho! Christmas is approaching, and we are in a festive mood already!
We have worked hard this year to start the activities of the Youth House and keep them going – and we are sure that you had an eventful year as well.
As we have all been pretty good this year, we deserve to have some quality time for ourselves, without any rush and stress – that’s why we are inviting you to our spend a pleasant evening with us, celebrating Danish Christmas traditions.
Come join us and other like-minded young people for our last in-person event this year. We will talk with a Dane who wrote her thesis on Christmas in Denmark and has been developing the cutest Christmas calendar on Instagram for the past three years. We will also watch a Danish Christmas comedy movie about family issues and holidays.
Our program:
19:00 – 20:00 – Public talk by Signe Nygaard Pedersen + Q&A
Signe is a 29-year-old living in Copenhagen and she has been studying the history of Danish Christmas from pagan times to modern days. She will be sharing her findings that were the basis of her thesis on children's TV Christmas calendars in Danish TV. She will speak English with no translation.
20:00 – 22:00 – Movie Screening of “That Time of Year”
This movie from 2018 tells a story of a Christmas dinner in a Danish family, where all of its deep-rotted issues are exacerbated by forced holiday togetherness. It will be screened in Danish with English subtitles.
The event will be held in Peremoga Space (Yaroslaviv val, 15, Kyiv)
It is free of charge and open to young people who have a COVID-certificate (completed course of vaccination, recent negative PCR test, or a proof of recovery from COVID19).
