Take part in role playing project on justice

Are you interested in art and social justice? Want to know more about how to do law?

Law Shifters is a project of Danish artist Stine Marie Jacobsen, that engages young citizens in law and democracy. The project is conducted as a role play where young people discuss their political opinions, ethical views and sense of justice when they re-judge real court cases and write new law proposals that reflect the reality that they are part of today.

Apply to Law Shifters if you:

  • live in Kyiv and study law at the university

or

  • live in Zhytomyr or Zhytomyr region and study in high school

and

  • want to train your argumentation skills
  • would like to try act as a judge, lawyer or jury member
  • are interested in art, social justice and law
  • no prior skills are necessary

The role play will take place physically in Kyiv on October 18th / Zhytomyr on October 19th. You will be able to meet and work with Stine Marie Jacobsen in person. The workshop will be conducted in Ukrainian by lawyer Kateryna Militsyna, PhD student at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and lawyer at Popko Brothers and Partners.

Stine Marie Jacobsen is a conceptual artist working to decode violence and law both individually and collectively through participatory means. She lives and works in Copenhagen and Berlin, graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts with an MFA in 2009 and a BFA from CalArts, the California Institute of the Arts, Los Angeles, USA in 2007.
