Job Opportunity: Mykolaiv-based Content Creator
The Ukrainian-Danish Youth House is looking for a Content Creator to join our communications team. The job is physically based in Mykolaiv in our first regional branch, and your task will be to support the whole communications team with content creation to support the strategic communication related to our programs, Houses, and the whole platform as such. It includes making designs, gathering materials (videos, quotes, etc.), conducting short interviews, and transforming those materials into captivating communication products (mostly SoMe (reels, stories, posts), podcasts, etc.).
The Ukrainian-Danish Youth House is a platform for young people from Ukraine and Denmark that supports youth participation, democracy, and creativity. We offer a creative, democratic platform to support youth projects, culture, and activism across our countries, with two free, available youth spaces in Kyiv and in Mykolaiv, as well as our flagship training, international seminars, and grant program. The Youth House is formally steered by a consortium consisting of the Danish Youth Council and the Danish Cultural Institute.
The position is based in Mykolaiv; however, the work will be to support not only local program activities, but the overall Ukrainian-Danish Youth House’s work across Ukraine. You will therefore be in close cooperation with colleagues in Kyiv.
Responsibilities:
- Support Communications Officer in Mykolaiv in developing the regional visibility
- Support the communications team based in Kyiv in creating content
- Design visuals and graphics for SoMe, external promotion, and printed materials
- Generate ideas for how to support our communication efforts with content
- Gather stories that include different formats (video, text, audio, etc.) - collecting stories and transforming them into final products
- Take pictures
- Text writing and translation
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree (communications, journalism, political science, or similar)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in similar positions
- Proven experience with visuals and graphic design
- Proven experience with video content
- Experience in working with design tools, preferably such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop
- Excellent command of written and spoken Ukrainian and English
- Creative and independent approach to solving tasks and strengthening the UDYH’s brand
- Ability to handle many different tasks simultaneously
- Ability and desire to travel in Ukraine occasionally
