Job Opportunity: Administrative Assistant for the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House in Mykolaiv

The Ukrainian-Danish Youth House in Mykolaiv is looking for a new colleague who can support administrative tasks and be a key person in getting the Youth House established as a key platform for youth in the region!

As our Assistant, you will be part of the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House’s small and dynamic team in Mykolaiv. You will get acquainted with all the processes and every corner of our new space. You will get involved in the daily administration and the coordination of practical tasks connected to the running of the office and activities, and to renovating the Youth House. You will also be part of welcoming people in the Youth House during the opening hours as well as supporting the youth-led activities being held.

This is a job for a person who likes to solve problems, who is organized and thorough, and who loves making all kinds of people feel welcome.

As we are an organization in development, you will get the opportunity to make an impact on our internal processes and be part of strengthening good practices, efficient workflows, and good communication. You will be our third colleague in Mykolaiv, working closely with 11 other colleagues in both Ukraine and Denmark.

About us:

The Ukrainian-Danish Youth House is a platform for young people from Ukraine and Denmark that supports youth participation, democracy, and creativity. Working from Kyiv since 2021 and from Mykolaiv since 2024, we offer a creative, democratic platform for everyone between 16 and 35 years of age to engage, facilitate, and support youth projects and activism across our countries. Since 2021 we have done this through making the Youth House available for youth, through our activities and programs, through supporting youth organizations, and through our grants. The Youth House is formally steered by a consortium consisting of the Danish Youth Council and the Danish Cultural Institute.

Tasks:

  • Support with administration tasks
  • Coordinate with contractors and technical workers
  • Ensure that equipment works and there are enough materials in place
  • Support events and activities in the Youth House
  • Support colleagues with the implementation of Youth House programs
  • Support with communication tasks
  • Welcome youth to the Youth House and support them in their activities
  • Other tasks ad hoc

Qualifications required:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience with similar tasks
  • Stringent and professional approach to tasks and coordination
  • Strong command of written and spoken Ukrainian and English (minimum intermediate)
  • Possibility to work evenings and weekends;
  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
  • Experience working with youth engagement is an asset
  • A strong drive for positive changes and an inclusive society
  • Base in Mykolaiv

What we offer:
