Re:debate | School debates
We are looking for students who want to improve their debating skills and represent Ukraine at the international competition in Denmark!
Re: debate is a series of intensive debate workshops for Ukrainian students. Together with experienced trainers from Ukraine and Denmark, we will learn to construct good arguments and master defending your point in discussions on a variety of topics, from raising concerns at your school level to discussing climate issues with the international community.
The program consists of two parts, and you can choose the level of involvement: 1) improve your basic debate skills or 2) continue practical training and preparation for international competitions. Participants who show the best results will form a team that will represent Ukraine at the Nordic Schools Debating Championship 2022 in Copenhagen in April or May this year.
If you join the program, you will:
- master the basic theory of debate and delve into its practical details;
- learn to better form and defend your own point of view;
- improve your public speaking skills;
- develop critical thinking and the ability to respond quickly to new challenges;
- join the community of leaders who are interested in global issues;
- compete for the opportunity to represent Ukraine at the international competition in Denmark.
Where, when and how?
- February 19-20 - online intensive (for all selected participants), language - Ukrainian;
- February 26-27 - offline intensive in Kyiv (for those who decide to continue participating), language - Ukrainian;
- March-May - debate practice for the Nordic Schools Debating Championship 2022, language - English.
The Ukrainian-Danish Youth Home provides accommodation, meals and travel for participants from other cities, as well as covers the costs of participation of the winning team in the competition in Denmark.
Apply if you:

- are a high school or college student;
- want to communicate more effectively and prove your point;
- can join all the days of the program and will take an active part in it;
