Second meeting of Danish Speaking Club

Second meeting of Danish Speaking Club

15-07-2021

Join the second meeting of Danish Speaking Club dedicated to Danish culture!

We had a lot of positive feedback for The Danish Speaking Club with our volunteer Oscar Fenger and so we are excited to announce a second meeting!

This time the discussion will revolve around Danish culture and mindset.

Whether your introduction to Denmark was though fairy tale worlds of Hans Christian Andersen, existentialist teachings of Søren Kierkegaard or revolutionary Dogme 95 movement, founded by acclaimed director Lars von Trier, you will have a fun opportunity to learn more yet!

Oscar will talk about local traditions and customs as well as how Denmark is integrated in Scandinavian and worldwide cultural landscape.

The meeting will be a great way to reflect on the modern trends in Danish art and media as well as to inspect how inclusiveness in creative sphere fosters societal progress.

We would like to remind you working languages are Danish and English, and Oscar also speaks Russian if needed. Participants of the Club should have a knowledge of Danish at A2 level or higher.

The event can have no more than 20 participants, so be sure to register here: https://forms.office.com/r/yhJWPirpan

All the registered persons will receive a Zoom link via email (please also check your spam folder, if you do not see the invitation).

Special thanks to the Ukrainian-Scandinavian Center, our informational partner.

And here are the topics and dates for our next meetings:

- August 5th, Civil society in Denmark: building up the community
- August 19th, Danish education: emphasizing creative freedoms
