In this war-worn and impoverished corner of Eastern Ukraine where addiction casts a long shadow, there sits a safe haven for children temporarily removed from their parents. A House Made of Splinters follows three kids awaiting their fate— will they go back or move on to a new home while a group of dedicated social workers create small moments of joy and respite from childhoods all but lost.

Kharkiv MeetDocs is an international documentary and feature film festival that focuses on the culture, problems and daily life of the eastern regions of Ukraine.
This year, the festival will take place from 1 to 6 October in a mixed online and offline format. The festival program will include a national and international competition for feature and documentary full-length and short films, special screenings and national premieres, as well as an industrial section consisting of workshops, master classes and creative meetings with industry professionals.
